Telerik Releases New Version of Kendo UI Complete

If you’re a developer looking for a tool to help you build the next great tablet app, Waltham, MA-based Telerik has a new product update it would like you to check out. Last week, the application tool company announced the latest release of Kendo UI Complete, which Telerik says “adds support for tablet UIs and debuts server-side wrappers for ASP.NET MVC in order to extend and simplify development of HTML5 and JavaScript mobile apps and sites.”

From the announcement:

Kendo UI Mobile already helps developers build HTML5 or JavaScript apps that automatically transform to the native look-and-feel of iOS, Android and Blackberry. With this update, developers can use Kendo Mobile UI’s unique adaptive rendering to target multiple phone and tablet platforms with a single UI codebase, thus eliminating the traditional challenges that developers face of manually researching and then combining all of the plug-ins and frameworks and libraries needed to build mobile apps.

For more on the new release, Suzanne Kattau of SD Times got a chance to chat with Todd Anglin, Telerik’s VP of HTML5 Web and mobile development tools, who explained that the new release was created to address the rise of tablets in the workplace and the fact that more and more developers are increasingly using HTML5 and JavaScript.

From SD Times:

“We’re also introducing new server-side wrappers for Kendo UI, targeting the ASP.NET MVC developer. So now those developers can get the same kind of server-side productivity with Kendo UI that they have been used to for decades of server-side development.”

Anne Grubb succinctly sums up the announcement over at DevPro:

The new Kendo UI release now includes a complete set of controls and widgets for creating rich iPad user interfaces. The addition of these iPad controls augments Kendo UI's mobile development capabilities, which use an adaptive rendering approach to target multiple phone and tablet platforms with a single UI codebase, based on HTML5 and JavaScript.
